Nicely done! I've been working on Saltmarsh this year in bits and pieces, adapting it for the 4th Edition campaign I'm running in Greyhawk, CY 585 (right at the start of the "From the Ashes" boxed set).

It sounds like you had a good experience there and hopefully you've had more fun with D&D. I was curious - did you have a name for the alchemist who used to live in the 'haunted' house? The module never gave him a name so was looking for ideas.

What a great blog entry! I enjoyed reading it.
Having recently introduced the third generation of Lowders to the game I can completely understand both the efforts and desire.
I applaud the use of first edition AD&D in this application. Well done.
Keep us up to date if you find the time.

Sounds like a great time! I have done some very simple roleplay with my 8 and 6 year olds, and look forward to continuing well into the future. I look forward to reading about your future family adventures!

I have two little boys and they're a bit young for serious roleplaying yet (3 and 5) but I'm really looking forward to doing something like this when they're a bit older. I've got 1e and the Rules Cylopedia and I always figured I'd grab some classic modules off of eBay when the time comes.
