Hi Chris,

I still mainly play Warhammer 2nd edition. Your work on Warhammer created, in my opinion, my favourite RPG full stop. Mechanically sound and the whole Warhammer universe to play in. Having said that I am about to run the 1st ed. D&D module Ravenloft I6, actually for the n-th time using Warhammer FRP 2nd. ed. The two were seemingly made for each other. One thing that has annoyed me greatly is the errata regards the Whip for the core rules (Errata version 10).

Whip: A whip is a thick leather or rope cord that
when used in combat deals negligible damage.
Instead, it is quite useful for entangling your
foes. When you begin combat with a whip
readied, you roll two 10-sided dice and take the
better result.

And that the Quality Fast was removed just leaving Snare.

Was that for game balance reasons? Fast seemed sort of fine given the Quality description.

But the thing that keeps me awake at night... Could you please email me what "take the better result." actually refers too? Is it the Initiative roll (sort of makes sense) or to the Damage roll. If the Damage roll, isn't that effectively just the Quality Tiring?

My money is on Initiative, but I have a habit of being wrong.

That aside, thanks for Warhammer 2nd edition. While companies and players war over new games I soldier on with the game that got it right.

Kindest regards,
 Stefan.
