And I for one, can’t wait.It’s gonna take a while to listen to his stuff again. I put on the Self titled lp yesterday, but had to turn it off as it made the tears start again. No-one in the music ‘scene’ has affected me this much before. He will always be my ‘John Lennon’. I really miss him. Love you, John.

It features recordings he did with EMMA PEEL and STABB in 1991 and ’93. The two bands include members of Minor Threat, Youth Brigade, Swervedriver, National Razor and Dot Dash. He’s why I becameca drummer in 1980 and was playing shows in the heyday of 1983. The mid-late 80s GI w/ Tom, Pete and J. was as good a band as there ever was. It was at that Salad Days benefit at Black Cat that I finally realized what a level of craftsmanship and professionalism he’d honed. I’m sorry you missed those shows, as they were perfect moments.

The benefit- turned- memorial last Sunday was a catharsis for every one in the room. We all processed the awful reality in that time, together.

The world is a dimmer, less fun place absent John Stabb
